Talk by Prof. V. L. Dharurkar on New Dimension of Ancient and Modern Physics (11 January, 2024)

        


        The Department of Physics at Shivaji University orchestrated a captivating lecture, delving into the intriguing realms of "New Dimension of Ancient and Modern Physics" on this enlightening day. The distinguished speaker for the occasion was Prof. V. L. Dharurkar, former Vice-Chancellor of Tripura University.

        The overarching aim of this intellectually invigorating event was to elucidate the intersections between ancient wisdom and contemporary physics, providing attendees with a profound understanding of the evolution of technology in the field. Prof. Dharurkar, in his erudite discourse, seamlessly blended the wisdom of sages Kashyapa, Vishwamitra, and Gautama with the nuances of modern science. He artfully wove together the scientific ideologies of luminaries such as Vivekananda, Bhaskaracharya, Dnyaneshwar, Sant Kabir, and the visionary Shivaji Maharaj, bridging the temporal gap between past and present.

        A poignant call resonated through the lecture hall as Prof. Dharurkar emphasized the critical need for both basic and applied research in advancing our understanding of modern physics. With eloquence, he elucidated the essence of engineering, providing the audience with a profound grasp of its fundamental meaning.

        The introduction to the event and Prof. V. L. Dharurkar was skillfully conducted by the Head of the Department and the program's Chairman, Prof. R. G. Sonkawade.
