High School Students visit to PIFC (14 September, 2023)

The Physics Instrumentation Facility Centre (PIFC) organized an educational visit for high school students on 14th September 2023 with the objective of creating scientific awareness and stimulating interest in physics and instrumentation among young learners. The visit was designed to provide students with hands-on exposure to advanced scientific instruments and to familiarize them with the practical applications of physics concepts taught in classrooms.

During the visit, the students were warmly welcomed by the faculty members and technical staff of the Department of Physics. They were given an introductory briefing about the role and importance of the Physics Instrumentation Facility Centre in academic research, experimentation, and innovation. The students were guided through various laboratories, where they observed sophisticated instruments and experimental setups. Faculty members explained the working principles, applications, and real-world relevance of the equipment in a simple and engaging manner.

The interactive session allowed students to ask questions and clarify their doubts, making the visit both informative and enjoyable. The exposure helped them understand how theoretical knowledge is translated into practical research and technological development. The visit concluded on a positive note, with students expressing excitement and curiosity about pursuing science in higher education. The program successfully strengthened the connection between school education and higher scientific research, fulfilling its objective of nurturing a scientific temperament among young minds.
