In a heartwarming initiative that underscores the power of unity and altruism, Shivaji University’s Physics Department recently organized a blood donation camp on August 16th. This event, held on the occasion of Independence Day, not only exemplified the spirit of giving but also highlighted how blood donation can foster national unity.
The camp was
graced by the presence of guests, including Pro-Vice Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) P.
S. Patil and Head of the Physics Department, Prof. (Dr.) R. G. Sonkawade, who
both emphasized the critical importance of blood donation. Prof. (Dr.) Patil
passionately advocated for national unity through such acts of kindness,
stating, "Blood donation is not just about giving a part of ourselves to
save lives; it’s about strengthening the bonds that unite us as a nation."
He further urged everyone to contribute to this noble cause, as it can have
far-reaching impacts on society.
Prof. (Dr.)
Sonkawade echoed this sentiment, reinforcing the idea that "blood donation
is the best donation," and underlined how such efforts are vital not only
for saving lives but also for promoting a sense of community and responsibility
among citizens. Under the meticulous coordination of Dr. M. V. Takale, the camp
saw enthusiastic participation from 13 individuals, including students,
teachers, and staff, who volunteered to donate blood.
The event was
made possible by the collective efforts of the Physics Department, and CPR,
Kolhapur. Notably, the camp was organized with the technical support of CPR's
Dr. Anand Vadje and his team, who ensured that the blood donation process was
smooth and efficient. The blood collected during this camp will go on to help
countless individuals in need, demonstrating the profound impact of such
initiatives.
Prof.
(Dr.) R. G. Sonkawade expressed deep gratitude to all those who contributed to
the success of the blood donation camp. He particularly acknowledged the
tireless efforts of his colleagues, including Prof. (Dr.) K. Y. Rajpure, Dr. A.
V. Moholkar, Dr. R. S. Vhatkar, Dr. N. L. Tarwal, Dr.
S. P. Das, Dr. M. R. Waikar, Dr. A. R. Patil and Dr. S. S. Patil.
Let this be a
call to action for everyone—donate blood, save lives, and contribute to the
unity of our nation.
