CIAA National Workshop 2024 (13-15 September, 2024)

National Workshop on "Contemporary Issues in Astronomy and Astrophysics-2024” (CIAA-2024) held at Department of Physics, Shivaji University, Kolhapur during September 13-15, 2024 in Collaboration with Inter-University Centre for Astronomy and Astrophysics (IUCAA), Pune Objective of the Workshop: The goal of this CIAA-2024 workshop is to spark interest in Astronomy and Astrophysics advancements among graduate, post-graduate and research students in India. The inaugural ceremony of the CIAA-2024 workshop was started at 11 a.m. on 13th September 2024 at the Rajarshi Shahu Maharaj Senate Hall by the Director of IUCAA, Prof. R. Srianand by lightning the lamp in presence of Vice Chancellor, Shivaji University, Prof. D. T. Shirke, Pro Vice Chancellor Prof. P. S. Patil and Head, Department of Physics, Prof. R. G. Sonkawade. Dr. J. L. Gunjkar, a Ramanujan Researcher at the Interdisciplinary Research Center of d. Y. Patil University, Kolhapur, emphasized during his speech on National Science Day the paramount importance of determination and perseverance in conducting impactful research. His insights were shared during an event organized by the Department of Physics at Shivaji University, themed "Indigenous Technology for Developed India." The event commenced with an introduction by Dr. M. V. Takle, shedding light on the significance of National Science Day and its historical context. Following this, Dr. Gunjkar was introduced by N. L. Renowned researcher and Curie Fellow, Dr. Nanasaheb Thorat, Associate at the Limerick Digital Cancer Research Centre, University of Limerick, recently shed light on this topic at a lecture titled “Multidisciplinary research career a way forward” organized by the Department of Physics, Shivaji University. The session underscored the importance of integrating diverse fields of study to foster innovation and comprehensive understanding among students. The program was introduced by Dr. V. S.
