The need for multidisciplinary education has become increasingly evident in today's complex world. Renowned researcher and Curie Fellow, Dr. Nanasaheb Thorat, Associate at the Limerick Digital Cancer Research Centre, University of Limerick, recently shed light on this topic at a lecture titled “Multidisciplinary research career a way forward” organized by the Department of Physics, Shivaji University. The session underscored the importance of integrating diverse fields of study to foster innovation and comprehensive understanding among students. The program was introduced by Dr. V. S. Kumbhar, who also provided an introduction to Dr. Thorat. Prof. (Dr.) R. G. Sonkawade, the President, presented Dr. Thorat with shawl, acknowledging his contributions. CIAA National Workshop 2024 (13-15 September, 2024)

National Workshop on "Contemporary Issues in Astronomy and Astrophysics-2024” (CIAA-2024) held at Department of Physics, Shivaji University, Kolhapur during September 13-15, 2024 in Collaboration with Inter-University Centre for Astronomy and Astrophysics (IUCAA), Pune Objective of the Workshop: The goal of this CIAA-2024 workshop is to spark interest in Astronomy and Astrophysics advancements among graduate, post-graduate and research students in India. The inaugural ceremony of the CIAA-2024 workshop was started at 11 a.m. on 13th September 2024 at the Rajarshi Shahu Maharaj Senate Hall by the Director of IUCAA, Prof. R.
