Physics Department Student Passes MPSC Exam (PSI) (9 June, 2025)

It was a moment of pride for the Department of Physics at Shivaji University. Ajinkya Namdev Kadam, a former student (Batch 2021-22) of the department, has achieved success in the Police Sub-Inspector (PSI) examination conducted by the Maharashtra Public Service Commission (MPSC). Ajinkya achieved this bright success in the results declared in March 2025, and he was felicitated by the Department of Physics for this achievement. It is particularly noteworthy that Ajinkya, a resident of Dahivadi village in Sangola taluka, achieved this success in his third attempt, solely through his own hard work and without any kind of coaching classes. CIAA National Workshop 2024 (13-15 September, 2024)

National Workshop on "Contemporary Issues in Astronomy and Astrophysics-2024” (CIAA-2024) held at Department of Physics, Shivaji University, Kolhapur during September 13-15, 2024 in Collaboration with Inter-University Centre for Astronomy and Astrophysics (IUCAA), Pune Objective of the Workshop: The goal of this CIAA-2024 workshop is to spark interest in Astronomy and Astrophysics advancements among graduate, post-graduate and research students in India. The inaugural ceremony of the CIAA-2024 workshop was started at 11 a.m. on 13th September 2024 at the Rajarshi Shahu Maharaj Senate Hall by the Director of IUCAA, Prof. R. A lecture on "Quantum Computers and Quantum Information" by Prof. (Dr.) Pramod S. Jog was organized on Thursday, March 27, in collaboration with the Department of Physics, Shivaji University, Kolhapur and the Indian Association of Physics Teachers (IAPT). During the session, Prof. Jog provided deep insights into the intricate aspects of quantum computer technology development. The lecture was held against the backdrop of UNESCO's declaration of 2025 as the International Year of Quantum Science and Technology. Dr. S. B.
